On Saturday 10 October, our REMAX family and friends gathered in pink for our Global REMAX Week Pink Ribbon fundraiser in support of a cause that matters deeply to so many of us.

Together, we raised $7,000 for Breast Cancer Foundation NZ.

Thank you to everyone who attended, contributed or generously donated prizes, and to those who gave even though they couldn't join us on the day. Every dollar will help fund education campaigns and support early diagnosis and better treatment for everyone affected by breast cancer.

At the heart of this event was Mala Maharaj, CEO of REMAX New Zealand. Mala's passion for this cause was the driving force that brought this event to life. She united our community, clients, partners and friends. In Mala's words, "Our responsibility extends to the communities we live and work in, and to the positive difference we can make beyond our day-to-day business. That's what Global REMAX Week is all about, a global network making a local difference."

A heartfelt thank you to our MC, Farah Khan, lawyer, columnist and philanthropist, whose warmth and presence carried the morning.

Inspiring voices

We were honoured to hear from two remarkable women, both breast cancer survivors, who opened their hearts and shared their journeys with us. Their stories were a powerful reflection of the courage and resilience so many women embody every day.

Mrs New Zealand and Mrs Globe New Zealand 2026, Zeisha Wood, is a māmā, speaker, writer and tech leader who is passionate about helping women recognise their voice and own their story. She reminded us how precious life is, and how important it is to love and support one another, to slow down, to listen to our bodies, and to embrace life beyond the everyday.

Shiro Pillay, medical laboratory scientist and practice manager at Gynae Care Auckland, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2020. She spoke about the importance of awareness and education, sharing valuable insights and statistics on breast health alongside her own personal journey.

A room full of connection

What made the morning so special was the people. The room was filled with strong, inspiring women, and it was heartening to see so many men standing alongside them in support. Guests connected and shared conversations, and we thank you for showing up for this cause and for each other.

Early detection saves lives. We encourage you to look after yourself, check in with your loved ones, and visit breastcancerfoundation.org.nz to learn more.

Thank you,
The team at REMAX
